Want to find out what music you listen to most?

Recently I signed up for this little website called Last.FM. Maybe you've heard of it. It is a music service that learns what you love to listen to. Every song you play on your computer and/or iPod is tracked on your Last.fm profile and stats are recorded showing what you listen to most. You can also connect with other people who like what you like - and recommend songs from your music collection.

One feature that I like is that Last.FM actually tells you what you top artists and/or albums for the week are. Its fun to see what your listening trends are and to actually see what you listen to most. Here is a listing of my top artists for the week.

I am anxious to see how my listening habits evolve. I highly recommend that you sign up for this service and add me as a friend, so we can share/recommend music to each other. Join Last.fm!

OH MY SUMMER TOUR GOODNESS...

This is probably the best news I've heard all year. My favorite Band, 311, has announced their 2008 summer tour. And of all the times I've seen them perform, this is already sounding like one of the best tours to date. Headlining with Rap GOD, Snoop Dogg, I can see no reason why anyone in their right mind would not want tickets to this show. It has been a few years since I went to a 311 concert, so you better believe that I will be going this year. I need my fix of the three-one-one. The Unity Tour begins in June and will go through August:

"Come Original" -311
(USANA Amphitheater, summer 2005, West Valley City, UT)

I took this video myself.

More exciting news, one of my all-time favorite bands, Stone Temple Pilots, has finally put their differences aside and have officially announced that they are getting back together. Not only that, but rumor has it that STP will reportedly play more than 50 amphitheaters across the U.S. this summer. The new dates are expected to be announced April 7th.

STP broke up in late 2002; the band's last album was the previous year's "
Shangri-La Dee Da." But they are most well known for their previous albums "Core," "Stone Temple Pilots," "Tiny Music...Songs from the Vatican Gift Shop," and"No. 4 ." I say, as long as Scott Weiland, who recently got the boot from current band Velvet Revolver, keeps it together, I have a feeling things will be as kick ass as usual for STP. At very least, let's hope he can keep it together long enough to have a successful tour.

We've changed a lot and then some, some - 311 Day

Today has been a day that I have long celebrated. Since my days in high school. March 11th a.k.a. 3-11 Day has always been a reminder to me of my love for the band that is 311.

I still remember the first time I heard the best band to come out of Nebraska. I was in my sophomore year of high school, and I worked at the Nike Outlet Store at the Outlet Mall in Park City. One of my coworkers was really into this band, I had heard of it but only knew one or two songs. Spending many a day working in the shipping room, this guy and I often listened and talked about 311 nearly everyday. I was eventually hooked. It took nearly no convincing at all, 311 blends the style of a variety of musical styles including alternative rock, punk, hip hop, reggae, and funk. A very unique, yet infectious blend that made an addict out of me. Still, after all these years (10+) I still consider myself a die hard fan.

3-11 Day is the one day of the year that 311 dedicates to it's fans, and in turn the fans celebrate the band. It's a mutual appreciation celebration! In addition to this, 311 puts on a one-of-a-kind show to celebrate the event. This has been a tradition for the band ever since March 11, 2000. The band usually plays a much longer set than the typical 311 show, and in addition they play a wider variety of songs, usually fan favorites. Today 311 will bring the show to New Orleans. Oh, how I wish I could be there. It is, after all, a goal of mine to eventually be numbered among the crazed fans at a 3-11 Day show. I really need to do this before the end of the band or even my life, which ever comes first.

HAPPY 3-11 DAY EVERYBODY!

In honor of the band, go and pop in the Blue Album and let the good grooves vibe!
