There is one thing that makes a good action movie EVEN better. Bullets, bullets and more bullets. From Rambo to Commando, the more bullets flying on screen, and the higher the body count, the better the action flick. With that said there are two movies coming out that show some SERIOUS potential, let me tell you all about them.
The first, is one that you have probably already heard about. Starring veteran action star and mega babe, Angelina Jolie, and James McAvoy (Atonement), Wanted, tells the story of a young man (McAvoy) who finds out his long lost father is an assassin. And after his father is murdered, he is recruited by his pappy's old organization and is trained to follow in his dad's footsteps. This will be a high octane shoot-em-up action movie with some added eye candy thanks in part to Angelina. Wanted comes blows up in theaters on June 27, 2008. Check out the trailer...
While surfing the web today, I came across a promo reel for this
movie, which I have NEVER heard of. It more than caught my eye, believe me, it looks VERY kick ass. The Tournament, is about a contest that takes place in an unsuspecting town every seven years, a battle royale between 30 of the world's deadliest assassins. The last man standing gets a $10,000,000 cash prize and the title of Worlds No1 Killer. A blood-soaked, action-thriller, The Tournament brings together Robert Carlyle (28 Weeks Later), Ian Somerhalder ("Lost"), and Ving Rhames (Pulp Fiction) as pawns in a deadly game of assassisin ego and pride. No official word on when this violence smörgåsbord comes to theaters, but you should check out this demo reel in the meantime, its kind of long, but it is WICKED cool!

Strange thing about the Tournament is that it uses Kronos Quartet's soundtrack to Requiem For A Dream in it's pseudo-trailer.
